Background

The success of the first National Seminar held in December15, 2021 inspired GSB to regularly arrange this type of technical gathering of geoscientists of the country after a long break. This continued and second seminar was successfully organized in 09-10 May, 2024with the presence of geoscientists from Bangladesh and abroad. Lot of enthusiasm was observed among the participated geo-scientists, researchers, academician, students and other stakeholders, and thanked for what they have been expecting from GSB. They also showed their gratitude and endless support to organize this type of national seminar regularly and reminded the responsibility of GSB as being the mother and only national organization for geological research and host of geological community of Bangladesh.

We are honored and glad to announce that the Geological Survey of Bangladesh (GSB) is going to organizethe3^rd National Seminar on “Geology for Sustainable Development, Planning and Climate Resilient Bangladesh” scheduled to be held on 03-04 May,2025. The goal of the seminar is to explore the research outputs related to sustainable development activities in the field of earth sciences; scope and necessity of application of geological knowledge in all sectors of development planning, recommendations etc. aiming development goals and Climate Resilient Bangladesh. Furthermore, it aims to bring together academicians, researchers, scholars, practitioners, students and related stakeholders from broad range of disciplines to share their valuable research experience, knowledge, expertise, as well as resources from diverse perspectives.

The seminar themes including:
